Our Chattanooga Adventure

You already know that we were at Vacation Bible School last week. We had a performance on Friday, which was the last day of VBS. After the performance, the fire truck came and sprayed us with the hose. We loved it and we brought Jessa into the spray with us.
Right after VBS on Friday, we went to Chattanooga because we wanted to see what it was like. Daddy did not go with us, so it was a girl family trip. It was fun.  We liked the balloon animals a lot.  Marina liked the indoor pool at the hotel. We went on the carousel at the splash pad. We also played on the animals and played in the fountains. I slipped a lot near the fountains, so I didn't like it as much.

For dinner we ate Kid Cuisines. Mom has never let us have them before because she says they are junk. But we get to do special stuff on vacation. After dinner, we went to the hotel pool. At the indoor pool, we used Jessa's Dora headband as a dropper that we could catch in the water. Sometimes we had to swim to the bottom of the pool.  It was only 5 feet, so it wasn't hard!

On Saturday we went on the Chattanooga Ducks Boat Bus! I liked it, but I didn't love it because it went too slow.  Marina loved it because she got to drive.

After that, we went to the Chattanooga Aquarium. I liked the cute hedgehog! We loved everything!
We had a lunch break at Mellow Mushroom, then we went to the salt water building to see the penguins and the butterflies.
Here we are at the salt water building. I saw the penguins poop! We also went to the butterfly room. There were a bunch of butterflies.  We looked through the glass and saw all kinds of butterfly chrysalises. We put sugar on our fingers to attract butterflies, but it didn't work.  No butterflies landed on our fingers.  I guess they were sleepy!

After we got home, we played with our friends to the Y Pool.  This pool is fun! We love the big baby pool here! Marina isn't tall enough to go on the big slide yet, but she can go on the little yellow slide.
Finally, Mom painted our front door red to match our new barn star. They match now!
Before...

After!
Goodbye Boys and Girls, Men and Women. The show is over! This weekend, we're going back to Chattanooga with Dad this time, and then on Friday we are going to Grandma's and then the beach!

Water Fun!

This week we played in the water.  Jessa went to playcation camp and got to play in the water on her last day.  She had a lot of fun.  Jessa loved her playcation camp!

We also played in the water at Cumberland Park.  Cumberland park is a new water park in Nashville that has a playground.  My favorite parts were when water came shooting out in the water area and getting snow cones.  I love Cumberland park!

This week, we haven't  gotten very wet.  Instead, we went to Vacation Bible School at our church. After the first day, we practiced our dancing and our songs at home. Only Marina and I go to VBS. Jessa has to wait one more year to go.

A swim test and summer baketball

We have been enjoying summer activities at the pool and at basketball this week.  The first thing we did was go to the pool.  Marina took swim lessons and then passed the swim test on Saturday! She was very excited.  Now she gets to go on the slide and the diving board and Mom can stay in the baby pool with Jessa. After swim lessons one day, we went to the Gruber's pool.  Lucy, their puppy, knocked me over and licked me all over my face.  She made me laugh a whole lot.

We also signed up for a basketball clinic at the Y.  We played for two hours.  After a whole week of playing basketball, we got a certificate and a basketball. We had a lot of fun at basketball because we learned a lot and we played games. We're playing again this week!
Besides basketball and swimming, we played around.  We went to our church to sign up for vbs (next week) and Religious Education for the fall.  After signing up, we played on their playground.   On Thursday, we went to daddy's softball game.  When it was Daddy's turn to bat, he made two home runs.  Yay for Daddy!

On Saturday morning, I went skating for my first time at the skate center for my friend's birthday. At the beginning, I felt a little bit scared, but once I got better at it, I felt happy. On Saturday night, me and my sisters got to catch fireflies.  Jessa started pouting since she couldn't catch fireflies. That's the end of my story folks.  Bye-Bye! \

Editor's Note: Our plan has changed! Mom does not sit back and let Maddie write and then publish. We tried this approach, and it just did not work! Instead, we're spending the summer working on good topic sentences, transitions between topics, and adding detail. We're getting better every week!  Maddie's still the author, but we're talking some things out first.  And she still loves comments. (:

Summer time!

Last week,  we had fun with water. We went to the spashpad and the YMCA. We also had fun at the zoo.  We saw two clouded leopards.  There was a mommy and a baby. We also saw a goat.  He ate my map.

Marina sat next to a funny goat standing on the goats only sign.

We rode to my school on our bikes.  Jessa wanted to ride her bike, but mommy said that she had to ride in the bike trailer.
On Saturday night, we roasted marshmallows and had s'mores.  After we ate our s'mores, we caught fireflies.

Finally, on Sunday night, we went to see Little Texas at Crocket Park. Marina and Jessa danced to the music.  I just sat and watched, because I don't like dancing.
