A swim test and summer baketball

We have been enjoying summer activities at the pool and at basketball this week.  The first thing we did was go to the pool.  Marina took swim lessons and then passed the swim test on Saturday! She was very excited.  Now she gets to go on the slide and the diving board and Mom can stay in the baby pool with Jessa. After swim lessons one day, we went to the Gruber's pool.  Lucy, their puppy, knocked me over and licked me all over my face.  She made me laugh a whole lot.

We also signed up for a basketball clinic at the Y.  We played for two hours.  After a whole week of playing basketball, we got a certificate and a basketball. We had a lot of fun at basketball because we learned a lot and we played games. We're playing again this week!
Besides basketball and swimming, we played around.  We went to our church to sign up for vbs (next week) and Religious Education for the fall.  After signing up, we played on their playground.   On Thursday, we went to daddy's softball game.  When it was Daddy's turn to bat, he made two home runs.  Yay for Daddy!

On Saturday morning, I went skating for my first time at the skate center for my friend's birthday. At the beginning, I felt a little bit scared, but once I got better at it, I felt happy. On Saturday night, me and my sisters got to catch fireflies.  Jessa started pouting since she couldn't catch fireflies. That's the end of my story folks.  Bye-Bye! \

Editor's Note: Our plan has changed! Mom does not sit back and let Maddie write and then publish. We tried this approach, and it just did not work! Instead, we're spending the summer working on good topic sentences, transitions between topics, and adding detail. We're getting better every week!  Maddie's still the author, but we're talking some things out first.  And she still loves comments. (:

I love the blog. Even though we are far away we get to see everything that you do. We love to see your little faces and read your story about the good times you had. You all are going to be the smartest, athletic girls ever. I love you three.

Hi Maddie,

Great job on the blog! Keep up the great work.
Tell Marina congratulations on passing the swim test! What a wonderful accomplishment.
Lucy sure looks cute. She is very different than Yogi Bear but looks like she is filled with just as much joy and love.
Tell daddy I said good job on the home runs.....how old were the players on the other team? :-)
Love You,
Aunt Rose
